Start Here: the Selfish Giver Blog
If you’re a nurse mom who is constantly taking care of others & wants to care for her own health too, you’re in the right place
We created this space for all the caregivers out there to let them know they aren’t alone in the struggle to stay healthy while also keeping up with the hectic pace of modern life
You might be here if
You feel stretched too thin between home-life and the demands of your hardworking nurse job
You want to feel better, but you don’t have time or energy for complicated routines
Your body and brain are screaming for rest, and you know it’s important to take…but you struggle to actually take time for yourself
You’re used to pushing through, the difficult emotions and the hard days, even when your body is asking you for a day off
You’re not alone in feeling this way.
Our health philosophy
The Selfish Giver way to approach health includes selfishly caring for yourself and selflessly caring for others. We can do both, without spending all day on an elaborate self-care routine.
We approach our health by meeting our basic needs to feel better. This includes stress management, adequate nutrition, movement, sleep and supporting our nervous system by including restful activities.
We focus on small, realistic changes that actually fit into our everyday, busy lives.
How to use this blog
You don’t need to read all the posts or try to do all the health-giving activities at once.
Start with what resonates with you. Think about how these concepts might improve your experience of this life, and how you might incorporate them into your day.
Come back when you need support. Ask questions and leave comments, I will reply back to you.
This space is meant to feel simple, doable, and enjoyable.
We can feel healthy again, even after years of taking amazing care of everyone else.
Use this space to take amazing care of yourself again, too.
